Training
for Intervention Procedures (TIPS), presented by Health
Communications Inc., provides bartenders, waiters and store
clerks with techniques on how to serve and sell alcohol
responsibly. This includes training on how to recognize
and handle potential alcohol abuse situations, such as proper
procedures to check identification and techniques to effectively
intervene and prevent drunk driving, by calling a cab for
patrons who may have had too much to drink. TIPS programs
are available for a number of venues.
Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition has developed an employee-focused, full-facility alcohol management training program for sport and entertainment facilities by combining the experience of industry operations professionals from MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, ARAMARK, and IAAM. TEAM represents the most comprehensive thinking about alcohol management. The program encapsulates a highly effective approach to preparing facility operations managers to train alcohol servers and event-day employees to manage the sale, service and consumption of alcohol. The goal of the program is to offer a high degree of customer service while ensuring a safe and enjoyable guest experience.
